Caden is officially 2 months old. I can’t believe it, I know I say this every month but as each month goes by it seems to go faster and faster each time.

We had our 2 month wellness doctors appointment today. He had to get his first round of vaccinations. It broke my heart to see him in pain but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be… meaning I didn’t cry. It was over in a minute. The first one he dropped the paci out of his mouth and fussed, the 2nd one he cried and the 3rd one he was pissed, and his face turned bright red. I picked him up right after and as soon as he was in my arms he stopped crying. Nate came with us so it was nice to have the extra support. Poor little guy, being a mom you try your hardest to keep them happy and safe and here I was holding his arms so someone could hurt him. But at the end of the day it is only protecting him. I just felt so bad. After the appointment he fell right asleep and has been sleepy ever since and a little fussy.
The doctors told me to give him Tylenol before his appointment but I was hesitate. I have heard mixed feelings about Tylenol not being good to give them before vaccinations and then other people said it helped with the pain. They also told me to bring sugar water, apparently it helps with the pain as well. I talked with my mom, asked some opinions on Facebook from friends and decided to opt out and not give him anything. I’m glad I did because he doesn’t seem to be having a reaction or anything from them and if he doesn’t need medicine I don’t want to give him any.
Other then the shots, the appointment went great!
- Weight: 11 lbs 2 oz. – 50%
- Height: 23 in. – 50%
- Head: 39 cm – 25%
- Loves his swing, naps in it which could bite us in the butt later on but for now it works.
- Loves to bounce … I need to get this kid a bouncer, he’s got strong little legs that he constantly wants to move
- Not really into Tummy time, he’ll do it for about 5 – 10 minutes and then he’ll be over it
- sleeps 4-5 hours a night
- Eats every 3 hours during the day
- Breastfeeding is going great
- Not yet sleeping in his crib but we are tackling that this month
- Holding his head up really well
- Hearing more coos and seeing more smiles
- Rolling over from his tummy to his back - I’m a proud mama
What I can’t wait for: To hear his laugh … I can’t wait to make him giggle!

Squee!! Look how adorable he is in that hat! I can’t believe 2 months have gone by either. I’m glad the shots went well, too, sans tylenol. I’d be wary of meds, too. I’m so anxious to join you in mommyhood.
