A Day of Nothing
Do you ever have one of those days where you just don’t care and you feel like doing absolutely nothing? Yesterday was one of those days for me.
I usually wake up every morning and make my bed (most days), put in a load of laundry, make CK breakfast, clean the kitchen yada yada yada. But yesterday I didn’t feel like doing anything. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. I didn’t even want to write a blog post but managed to do that.
So instead of feeling bad about it, I embraced it. I woke up and got Caden. I didn’t make any beds, didn’t touch a single piece of laundry and just chilled out with Caden all morning. I came down stairs made him breakfast and didn’t clean up the kitchen. I stacked all the dishes in the sink. And you know what? After putting CK down for a nap I read. Yep, I read all throughout his nap and relaxed. It felt AWESOME. I didn’t feel guilty about my to-do list not getting done or that I had a million chores around the house. I just had some good ‘ole me time and boy did I need it. Once Caden was up I played with him until it was dinner time. After dinner and Caden was in bed I sat my butt on my couch, watched TV and searched the web.
I’m realizing it’s important to take a day off once in a while. Especially for us moms and dads who can’t turn our jobs off. Even more so for the working moms and dads. There is always something that can be done 7 days a week. But constantly going and going and going your eventually going to get burnt out. But more importantly I’m realizing that it’s OK to take a break once in a while if you really need it. The chores, the errands and the to-dos can all wait.
How about you? Do you take a “me” break every once in a while?

I definitely take “me” time as much as I can and think it’s extremely important! Good for you for relaxing! It doesn’t seem to happen enough!

I need to remind myself of this sometimes! I get so caught up in th go-go-go that I realize sometimes I just need to chill. And play with Hailey. And let the laundry wait. Great reminder
