For Caden’s birthday party I made a Balloon Wreath which you might have seen in some of the pictures.
I got this idea from no other then da da dun … Pinterest! It’s super easy to make, a little time consuming but once you get in the zone you can breeze through it!
Here’s what you need:
- greenery pins (U-shaped florist pins)
Leave the plastic around the wreath. This will keep it from falling apart.
Take a balloon or 2 and fold it over your greenery pin and push it into the wreath.
(I used 2 balloons per pin. I’ve heard of people using up to 4 balloons per pin. Just keep in mind the closer you pin your balloons together the fuller your wreath will be. The fuller your wreath, the heavier it gets.)
Repeat. And Repeat. And Repeat.
I used about 500 balloons and could have easily used more so be prepared to use lots of balloons! I decided to use a variety of color, but you can also stick to a color scheme.
For the middle:
- wood pieces
In craft stores they sell wood pieces in different shapes and characters, I picked up a wooden circle and a wooden number 1. I then painted them and glued them together with craft glue I used on my #1 Table decoration. I then drilled a tiny hole on top and tied it to the wreath with a piece of ribbon.
And there you have it! An easy, not so quick but reusable and adorable birthday decoration! I plan on using this wreath every year for birthdays and changing out the center!
This was my first time making a wreath and I really liked it! I may have to make some more! Have you ever made a wreath before?
