Pets

It’s now Monday and we have sprung forward with the time change. It always takes time getting use to it but it just means spring is finally here!

We had some friends Matt and Allison and their pup Jake come into town and stay with us for the weekend. They are contemplating on moving down to Charlotte, which we are very happy about, but wanted to check out the area. Matt was Nate’s best man in our wedding and Kala and Jake actually grew up together. Nate got Kala at the beach when living with Matt and Jake, so seeing them together is always funny. They have very similar mannerisms which is crazy to me. So of course we didn’t get any pictures of Matt and Alison here, I did get some of Jake and Kala.

Friday we took them around and showed them some different areas and Friday night we got some dinner with Dan and Jenny at Lattitude 36 which use to be Midtown Sundries but that closed. It looks pretty much the same but the food is how do I say “not as bar-ish.” It’s a raw bar, they have decent food. However, I wasn’t impressed with their crab dip. And than we went and got some frozen yogurt at TCBY, which is to die for. I am loving the frozen yogurt. I’m surprised they don’t know me there by name yet. Give it 3 more months and they will :)

Saturday morning Nate and I got some breakfast at our official breakfast spot Toast and then Jenny and I headed out to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens for this photography event they were hosting. The gardens were a lot bigger then we expected and even though the plants and flowers weren’t in bloom yet it was still really pretty. A perfect location for future pictures. We found out that they have other photography classes available as well. So I think I”ll be hitting up some classes there in the future. One thing Jenny and I did realize is that her and I have not taken one picture together since we got pregnant. We really need to get on that because we are both in the same boat .. she’s due 3 weeks later then I am.

These aren’t my pictures but I found them online to show you the gardens

It was such a gorgeous day on Saturday – 70′s and sunny that Nate and I decided to have a little cook out at our house and invite some friends over to grill some food and hang out. Again I didn’t take any pictures and totally meant to. But it was great hanging out, laughing, enjoying some good food and good company.

Sunday came and we were actually planning on attending church but we missed it, due to us getting a late start from the time change. We did end up getting a lot of yard work done which was great. I now realize why 7 month pregnant women don’t do much … I had the job of raking out all the old pine straw … by the way I hate pine straw that they use down here for mulch … Ohio mulch is way much better :) . Anyways so I had the job of raking up the old Pine Straw and I started to get light headed and shaky and had to take a break and eat and then my arms were sore and my belly and back weren’t feeling  the greatest. I just can’t do things like I use to. Luckily, I have only 3 more months till I can get back into shape. I really feel pathetic sometimes. So Nate had to do a lot of the “heavy lifting” of the yard work but he didn’t mind. He was super motivated yesterday he got the yard work done, and washed the car. Feel like father hood coming up has him nesting too :) .

So on to a new week, and expecting more visitors this week. Wednesday we have another doctors appointment and my brother Dan and his girlfriend Tera are coming to visit for the weekend. They are also looking at some places down here to move. That would make me one happy sister, having 2 out of 3 of my brothers in the same area! More uncle time for Caden :)

Coping

It’s so great to have so many comments from people who care. We have had so many people leave kind words and messages on Facebook and through email and we really appreciate that from the bottom of our hearts. It’s a lot easier to cope with a loss when you have a great support system. [...]

BABY ZEUS

September 13, 2010

First I would like to say Thanks for everyone’s concern and prayers. A part of our family died last night and I guess I’m writing this to get some closure and celebrate his life. He was our youngest dog, Zeus. I know some people may think “he’s just a dog” but Nate and I don’t [...]

Well this past weekend Nate and I stayed home and kind of chilled out. We are watching our friends two dogs this weekend so we were kind of laying low and getting some stuff done around the house. We did some yard work, and instead of finding a snake we found a turtle in our [...]
