Before we had Caden, Nate never really paid too much attention to kids. He wasn’t really a big “kid” person. He always knew he wanted kids but wasn’t the type of guy to get down on the floor and start wrestling with someone elses kids. I think I maybe saw him hold a baby twice before Caden was born. So, I didn’t really know what to expect of him as a dad until I saw him holding our son for the very first time.
Right then and there I knew from the bottom of my heart that Nate was going to be an amazing dad. And I was right. He changed diapers, fed him, got peed on, pooped on and spit up on more times than anyone can count. Caden has always found a sense of calmness in Nate’s arms from the very beginning.
And now that he’s older they have built this special bond that I can’t describe. The way that he looks at Nate and studies every move he makes. You can already tell how much Caden looks up to hm. And every night when Nate comes home from work Caden stops dead in his tracks, drops everything in his hands and runs to the door saying “hey” or “Dadda”. If that doesn’t tell you how much his Dadda means to him, I’m not sure what would.
Happy Father’s Day Babe!
It’s been so amazing thus far watching you and Caden’s relationship grow. The way you look at each other shows me how much you two really care for each other and I look forward to watching your bond grow deeper as the years go by.
Thank you so much for being such a amazing Dad to our son! He is one lucky kid to have such a great role model and I can only pray he grows up to be just like you!
*And of course I can’t forget the other man in my life … Happy Father’s Day to my Dad! He has taught me more things about life then he will ever know!
