I was putting away Caden’s newborn clothes that he already grew out of the other day. I know, I can’t believe it. He’s already 6 weeks old and time is flying by way too fast. It kind of makes me sad. Just yesterday I was starring at him in the hospital saying I can’t believe he’s ours.
As I was putting away his newborn clothes I came across his “going home” outfit from the hospital and his little socks.

I thought it looked so tiny and thought “I need to save this.” I’m saving all of his clothes in case we have another boy in the future, but I wanted to save this particular outfit for him. I like the keep sake kind of stuff, my mom kept a lot of our things and baby clothes growing up and it’s so awesome to go back and look at it. I’m following in my moms footsteps I guess.
Then I started thinking about what I could do with it, and thought about a shadow box. You know the boxes that look like picture frames that people put jerseys or t-shirts in from professional athletes or celebrities. I went to Michaels yesterday and picked one up, it was 13 bucks. I picked this one because the outfit fit perfectly in it. (I took the outfit to the store with me to make sure I found one that would work)

Once we were home, Caden hung out in his Baby Einstein play mat while I opened it.

I was wandering how I was going to attach the outfit to the box but a Velcro strip was included with the box. Which was perfect!

It was super easy all I had to do was just cut the Velcro strip and put it on the back of the outfit and socks. Literally took me 10 minutes … if that.

And Tada!

It turned out so cute and I’ll always remember how small he once was. Nate and I plan on having more children in the future so I think it will be really cute if I do this for each one.
Now every time I look at this it will reminder on how fast time goes and to cherish every moment.

Oh wow, I can’t believe how easy that was and how cute it came out! Don’t let Caden grow up too quickly… wait for me and Baby D!!! I’m afraid you and Jenny are going to leave this prego behind…

We won’t leave ya behind .. your right around the corner
I can’t wait to find out what your having!
This is a super cute idea! I have used shadow boxes for other memories but never thought of putting baby clothes! i will have to use this when Baby W comes to join us in October! I’m having trouble deciding on what to do for a going home outfit though, since we aren’t finding out what we are having!
You’ll have to do a gender neutral outfit or bring a girl and boy outfit
