What I Learned This Weekend

Each Monday I post “What I Learned this Weekend” It’s pretty self explanatory. I let you in on what I learned each weekend. The good, the bad and the strange. If your interested in posting a “What I Learned this Weekend” on your blog; make sure you share your link with us in the comment section so we can all check it out!

I wish I could say I was feeling great and really refreshed this fabulous Monday morning but I can’t. CK is still not sleeping good. I have no clue what the deal is since his bottom 2 teeth have busted through. How much longer can I really blame it on teething?

Anyways as you may know we are here in the great state of Ohio; surrounded by snow. Although it is melting as we speak. It was nice seeing snow for the first time this year but boy I don’t miss that stuff one bit! So besides the big snow storm we got hit with; we did manage to have a great weekend with family and friends.

My friend Nicole came into town and stayed with us for a few days. We went to high school together and were roommates our freshman year of college. I miss her already and so happy she came down.

Friday night my mom watched CK so I could have a break and go out for the night with my friends. It was nice not worrying about getting up with CK and just having some girl talk. Us moms need that stuff sometimes. There’s only so much baby talk I can handle before I need some adult interaction. The rest of the weekend I just chilled out and played with Caden. Even his Sito came to hang out for a little bit.

Anywho … on with what I learned.

I learned this weekend that:

  • Life is unpredictable.  I was reminded of this by a dear friend of mine who got in a bad accident a few years ago. It was great catching up with him but he reminded me how precious each and every day is and how fortunate we should be of all the little things in life. He may not remember everything in his past and he may not be able to feel hot or cold but he still is the same guy who makes goofy faces in pictures!

  • one of my friends came out and told me he thinks it’s cheesy and stupid that I blog. I’m sure he’s not the only one; in fact I’m almost positive that some of my family members think this as well.

  • I still enjoy catching up with old friends from the past.

  • My baby can now balance for a few seconds at a time all by himself! I have no documentation of this yet but it’s the cutest darn thing in the world! And he really has no clue what’s he’s doing until we all make a big fuss, which scares him and he ends up losing his balance. I didn’t think he could get much cuter but with teeth coming in and him looking like Bernie from “Weekend at Bernie’s” when he walks; I just want to eat him up.

  • My blog stats are better then I thought! Everyone is so hush hush about blog stats and you never really know how your doing because you have nothing to compare your stats with. After coming across this article from Moms Blogger Club article on advertising I now have a better idea of where I stand.

  • I miss my girls. I have a handful of friends that I consider to be my best friends. They live all over the country and I don’t really get to see them that often. I was fortunate enough to see two of them this weekend. Nicole who lives in WV and Meredith who now lives in Cali. We don’t get together much, but when we do it’s like we’ve never been apart.

Did you learn anything new this weekend?
