Hola!
Finally I got my Rosetta Stone downloaded on to my computer, apparently I had to install one more thing to get it to work. It is now up and running and I did my first lesson last night. I’m not going to lie I felt a little weird saying the words to my computer but it does get you speaking. It literally doesn’t say one English word to you, so when it is saying words in Spanish to you, you have to figure out from the pictures what it means. The point of Rosetta Stone is to immerse you in the language because that is when people learn the best. Think about it, when you are a child you don’t really know what words you are saying or memorizing words, you just “catch” on so to speak. So in the beginning it is really weird they start off with pictures of a little boy and girl and a woman and man and then add in pictures of them drinking, eating, reading, writing pretty much the basics but after the first lesson I can understand, read and speak (not very well) words like swimming, boy(s), girl(s), woman, man, reading, writing, cooking … so it is working really well. I didn’t think I would be able to recognize words after the very first lesson! And on top of that when we are in South Beach I will be immerged into the language so I can practice
I am not so much worried about speaking it, but I really want to be able to understand it. I have and I’m sure everyone else has felt the same way when people are speaking a different language around you, you always wonder if they are talking about you ha! Now I will know!
Well off to continue packing, contact a handy man and do another Rosetta Stone lesson before Nate and Mark’s event party tonight!
Adios!
