Theresa Caputo: The Long Island Medium Live in Charlotte

Have you all heard of the show The Long Island Medium on TLC also known as Theresa Caputo?

She talks to the dead. Yep, she’s had a special gift ever since she was 4 years old. She says she’s been through a lot of therapy and has had major anxiety and one point was even afraid to leave her house. It wasn’t until she met her “spirit mentor” Pat who taught her to embrace her gift and use it to help others communicate with their loved ones.

At first I’m not going to lie, I thought it was a bunch of BS but after watching a full episode and the emotions that these random people showed; it just had to be real. She knew too many details to be able to “Google” it or find it on Facebook. I was hooked and have been watching her ever since.

My friend Deena said she had tickets to see her live here in Charlotte and I was thrilled that she wanted me to go! Finally, I was going to be able to see for myself if this was for real; like I thought or all made up! Last night we headed downtown and stopped at the Peculiar Rabbit and had some dinner while enjoying the spectacular view of the Queen City.

We then headed over to Ovens Auditorium to see Theresa up close and personal doing her thang. It was an amazing experience! I have always believed that there is another world other then the physical world here on earth. But in the back of my head there was some doubt.  I mean, what if she is getting her information from somewhere or someone else and she really isn’t connecting with spirits?

But honestly after seeing her in action, I’m more of a believer now then ever. She knows too much. And to keep everything straight, at some point she was reading 3 people at once (which she calls piggy backing) I was totally confused and it was hard for me to keep up with all their stories but not for her. She was just spewing out information about these three women and all the people they had lost. She read people for 2 hours straight. Walking down the aisles she would stop and read someone and then move right on to the next.  There were a few kids in the audience that got read which was really awesome but really hard to listen to and watch. Seeing the children break down because their father or grandfather was coming through was just heart breaking. But to see the relief on their faces afterward was just amazing.

There was one little girl in particular, she was about 8 or 9 I’d say and she had lost her older sister. But the difference with her is that she actually sees and talks to her sister. Being so young and not really understanding what is happening she gets frightened. Her parents had to put up cameras all around their house to make her feel more safe. She’s been in and out of therapy and they all think she’s crazy. Her mom said through tears that she started singing her sister’s favorite song and that there was no possible way that she would know it since they were 8 years apart. I mean word for word. Theresa took this little girl under her arm and explained that she had a wonderful gift and not to be scared. That her feelings were true and that she should talk with Pat. I thought that was pretty amazing. This little girl who you could tell was terrified and teared up while talking with Theresa felt so much better after hearing she wasn’t nuts. Theresa then invited her and her family out to NYC to come to her Christmas show which I thought was pretty cool of her.

Seriously though if these people are actors they are freaking amazing and need to win the Academy Award. The emotion that you see in these people’s eyes, the hurt, the guilt and most important the relief and peacefulness they find after is more then I need to believe. Theresa said she started the show to raise “Spirit Awareness” and she’s done a fantastic job. Just seeing how many people she has helped feel at ease here in Charlotte I can only imagine what she is doing throughout the rest of the world. Props to you Theresa, keep doing your “thang”.

Regardless of what I have just written do you believe people here on earth can talk to the dead?

I feel like such a nerd admitting it, but I LOVE this stuff! I just saw an episode of her show the other day for the first time, but used to love watching Crossing Over with John Edward, a man who does the same thing. I find it amazing and love seeing the relief people get from being assured that there loved ones are “there” and safe.

I definitely believe and love hearing similar stories of people knowing that their loved ones who’ve passed have visited them. We’ve had multiple instances of Riley talking to and/or about Grandma (Ryans Mom passed from cancer when Riley was 1 month old) and it totally gives us the chills.

Have you ever had any experiences?

P.S. Sitting her commenting and my friend just walked in from taking Riley to the park and said you guys met- too funny!

I haven’t had any experiences besides some lights going off but I totally believe in it. That is so cool that Riley talks to her Grandma. She said that they usually come to younger children because they don’t have a bunch of stuff in their head like adults do. :)

Wow sounds like a very interesting experience you encountered with Theresa Caputo! I’ve never seen her show, but I do definitely believe that some of us walking the Earth have those special gifts to contact another world. I’ve never personally done anything like that myself, but I do find it rather interesting! It sounds like she might just be the real deal too, so I’m going to have to check out a few episodes to see what you mean. I’ve noticed some episodes are free for me to watch on DISH Online, so I’m going to head that way right now to catch up with what I’ve been missing out on. One of my coworkers at DISH told me she was just picked up for a fourth season too, so she definitely seems to have a following out there! Thanks for sharing! :)

Yes, I believe that there are some of us that communicate with the non-living. Two of them living in my house, my two year old son and my husband. My son talks to both of his departed great grandfather’s on a regular basis and will tell you who they are… I knew my son was going to have the same gift that my husband has when I was pregnant with him and I could feel people around us and in our house constantly. Something I had NEVER expereienced. I would wake up SEVERAL times a night feeling like someone was in the house and someone was staring at me. Finally we smudged the house and it seemsed to clean out all the bad entities. But I still felt people in our house. My husband told me that it was just family there to check on us and watch Hank grow. The day that sticks out in my mind the most is the day they told me they were going to take Hank the next day because he had stopped growing… I was sitting in the living room after our appointment and from where I was sitting I could see straight down the hall to our bedrooms. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a man in tan pants, a white button down shirt, dark glasses, silver hair, tan with weathered looking skin walk out of our bathroom, I whipped my head to look down the hall so see him take a breif stop in the hallway and head into our room. I jumped up ran down the hallway to see no one in our bedroom. Later that night, my husband woke me up and said “My grandpa says he’s very sorry for scaring you. He is just here to check on us and make sure everything goes good tomorrow with the baby.” I’ll never forget that night… We’ve had issues with bad entities being in the house and keeping Hank and Aaron up and I’ve had to smudge in the middle of the night. We are concious about what we bring into our house that’s been previously owned and if it’s older I always smudge the object. Not knowing if it’s bringing any sprits with it. So yes, I very very much believe that there are people who can communicate with the deceased. It’s something I am constantly reminded of.

Wow this just gave me chills! I would have freaked out if I saw someone in my house but at least you know it’s relatives and they are just looking out for you guys! So your husband is the one who talks with them?

She definitely is the real deal. I went to see her in Charlotte and by the Grace of God she gave me a reading that night! I never went there thinking that I would’ve had that amazing opportunity to get a reading. I still to this day talk about it and will never forget my friend Landon coming through…life changing!
