What I Learned this Weekend

September 11, 2012 | By More

So with everything going on right now and this insane week we have going for us I completely forgot to post this yesterday. Oops! Better late then never!

I learned this weekend that

  • Celebrating the weekend after our Anniversary is just as much fun. This year Nate was out of town for our Anniversary so we decided to go out on Friday to celebrate. I was kind of bummed because I didn’t feel like it was going to mean as much as it would on “our” day; but it did. We got a sitter and went up to Mooresville to the Epic Chop House. We love that place!

  • Being friends since Kindergarten is not all that common. I have quite a few best friends that I’ve known a long, long time. However, my friend Libby (who came to visit this past weekend) I’ve known for over 25 years. Libby and I were roommates all throughout college and actually shared a bedroom for 2 out of the 4 years we were there. She stayed with Kristin on Friday night, who I’ve also known for 25 years while Nate and I went out. Saturday I went and spent the whole day and night with them. It was so great catching up, reminiscing about grade school and girl scouts. I mean these girls know EVERY chapter of my life. It’s pretty amazing we can still pick up right where we left off and actually take the time to still get together no matter where we live or where we are at in life. I’m blessed to have both of them in my life still to this day and can only hope that we stay friends till the end. #Troop699!

  • I need to rewatch Forks over Knives. I was so tired Sunday night I passed out right after it started. But from what I did see I already want to eat a more plant based diet and learn a lot more about eating healthy. I think after I watch Forks over Knives again I’ll be moving on to Food Inc.

Forks Over Knives

Any other good food movies to watch?

    Hey Sus!

I had so much fun spending time with you and your family! Caden is adorable and I can’t wait to see him again. You are right, it is sooo easy to pick up right where we left off! I love that our friendship is still so strong even though we live so far apart now. I am so glad that we have been able to see each other from time to time! I am looking forward to my next visit! I can’t wait to see your new house and for Kent to meet Nate and Caden! I love you!
